Role Overview
As we continue to grow, we are seeking dynamic and experienced Assigned Certifiers to join our Technical Advisory Services team.
In this role, you will take on a variety of responsibilities across a diverse range of projects, including managing the BCAR certification process, conducting design reviews, providing technical advisory services, and performing site inspections. By leveraging the Catalyst Assigned Certifier process, you will contribute to raising standards and fostering a culture of compliance within the construction industry— delivering lasting benefits to all industry stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Assigned Certifiers play a pivotal role in managing and delivering the Catalyst Assigned Certifier process in compliance with the Building Control Amendment Regulations (BCAR). Acting as the individual lead on multiple projects, they take on an externally facing role, collaborating with project stakeholders such as designers and builders. Assigned Certifiers fulfill a critical leadership function in the statutory role, advancing Catalyst’s mission to raise standards and drive compliance in the construction industry.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing bespoke inspection plans tailored to each project, following the Catalyst process and applying a risk-based approach.
- Conducting periodic site inspections as the Assigned Certifier, utilizing our obi® software.
- Managing the BCAR administrative process through the Building Control Management System (BCMS).
- Attending site and design team meetings as needed.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with building owners, project managers, builders, design teams, and subcontractors to ensure adherence to the Catalyst BCAR process.
- Leading regular BCAR meetings and providing updates on the process status through obi®.
- Encouraging project teams to maximize the use of the obi® platform for certification projects.
- Supporting colleagues by sharing specific expertise and lessons learned.
Mandatory Requirements/Experiences
- Be chartered or registered with a relevant professional body (e.g., RIAI, SCSI, Engineers Ireland) with a minimum of 10 years’ experience.
- Demonstrated experience in inspecting building works, either as a designer or contractor, is essential.
- Exhibit a genuine passion for enhancing quality within the construction industry. Show a strong interest in innovation and digitalization in the built environment. Proven ability to work collaboratively in teams while driving high performance. Capable of self-management and leading initiatives without the need for close supervision.
- Hold authorization to work in Ireland.
